Katherine "Kate" Bihm (formerly Katherine Shipman) became a well-known figure in Montgomery County when she ran for judge of the 9th District Court in the 2016 Republican primary. Before running for judge, Kate practiced under her maiden name. During the election, the slogan, "Vote for Bihm, not for him," became a rallying cry for her supporters, many of whom knew her simply as Kate Bihm. In order to better reflect the growth of her firm, and to make it easier for her supporters and new friends to find her practice, Katherine Shipman, PLLC, Attorney transitioned to The Bihm Firm, PLLC, in September 2016.

During her three-year tenure as an assistant district attorney, Kate thrived in the fast-paced world of the criminal justice system, trying dozens of bench and jury trials, reviewing thousands of criminal cases, processing arrest warrants and studying the complexities of criminal law. After a particularly difficult jury trial, one of the jurors asked Kate why she wasn't on the other side. When Kate asked why, the juror said that if her loved one was in trouble she would want Kate on their side.

That juror helped Kate realize that she had a strong desire to help individuals and that there was a need for a compassionate, talented criminal defense lawyer who values her clients' lives and who desires to protect their futures. Believing she could fill that need, Kate opened her own firm in Conroe, determined to give discerning clients what they deserve — practical advice, truthful counsel, aggressive representation, and excellent service. When satisfied clients started asking Kate to lend her practical approach and trial experience to family law matters, Kate started accepting those cases as well.

As her practice has grown, Kate has represented clients charged with all levels of offenses, from traffic tickets to murder, across numerous Texas counties. She has also provided compassionate, dedicated legal help with multiple types of family law cases, including representing spouses during divorce proceedings and helping parents address matters related to child custody and child support. She can assist with multiple types of complex divorce and family law issues, including helping business owners protect their interests during divorce, creating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, establishing paternity, and helping victims of domestic violence apply for orders of protection. When you hire Kate, you will be getting knowledge and experience that you can trust.
